Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Monitorial.io (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website (monitorial.io) and our Snowflake Native App product, Monitorial Pulse.

2. Monitorial Pulse — Data Processing

Monitorial Pulse is a Snowflake Native App that runs entirely within your Snowflake account. This architecture means:

  • Data stays in your account: The app reads only Snowflake metadata views — it never accesses your actual table data. External connections are opt-in — only formatted alert messages leave, and only to destinations you explicitly configure and approve.
  • Notification messages only: The only information that leaves your Snowflake account is formatted alert messages sent to your configured notification destinations (e.g., Slack, PagerDuty, Email, Microsoft Teams).
  • Opt-in telemetry: Monitorial Pulse supports Snowflake's native event sharing for telemetry, but this is disabled by default. You must explicitly enable it for any telemetry data to be shared with Monitorial.
  • Customer-controlled: You control which monitors are active, what destinations receive alerts, and what notification rules are configured.

3. Opt-in Notification Integrations

Monitorial Pulse offers an optional feature that uses Snowflake's native notification integration objects to capture failure events from your tasks and pipes. When you enable this feature:

  • Data leaves your Snowflake account: When a task or pipe fails, Snowflake sends its standard error payload (task/pipe names, error codes, error messages, timestamps, and query IDs) to a cloud message queue (AWS SNS, Azure Event Grid, or Google Pub/Sub) operated by Monitorial.
  • Round-trip architecture: Monitorial receives the events on its cloud infrastructure, then pipes them back into your Snowflake account via Snowpipe (configured within the native app). Once returned, events enter your rules engine for evaluation and notification dispatch.
  • Setup handled by you: Monitorial provides the SQL code to create the notification integration. You run it in your account as the app does not have CREATE INTEGRATION privileges.
  • Strictly opt-in: This feature is disabled by default. You must explicitly run the provided setup code and choose to enable it.
  • Snowflake standard payloads only: The data transmitted is Snowflake's native error notification format. Monitorial does not add to or modify the outbound payload content.
  • 7-day retention: Any event data received on Monitorial's cloud infrastructure is retained for a maximum of 7 days before being permanently deleted.
  • Revocable at any time: You can drop the notification integration object to immediately stop events being sent externally.
